02/14/2012 - Milwaukee, WI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The salary arbitration case between the Brewers and pitcher Jose Veras was ruled in favor of club on Tuesday.
Milwaukee will pay Veras a $2 million salary in 2012 instead of the $2.375 million he requested, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
In December, the Brewers acquired Veras from the Pirates in a trade for third baseman Casey McGehee.
Veras appeared in a career-high 79 games for Pittsburgh in 2011, throwing to a 3.80 earned run average with 1.24 walks/hits per inning pitched. The Brewers will be the fifth stop for Veras in four years, having also spent time with the Yankees, Indians and Marlins.
